CHICAGO — The DNC is underway from Monday-Thursday in Chicago. WFAA will be covering the event daily, and here's how you can watch and follow along.
The second day of the Democratic National Convention featured a lively ceremonial roll call in which each state cast their votes to ceremonially nominate Kamala Harris as the party's nominee for president. Notable Texans representing the state during the roll call included Cecile Richards, former director of Planned Parenthood and daughter of the late Texas Gov. Ann Richards, and Kate Cox, the Texas woman who had to leave the state to get an abortion after a difficult pregnancy.
The second night also featured big name national speakers, including former President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Sen. Bernie Sanders and more. Day 2 notably also featured some Republicans, including former Trump press secretary Stephanie Grisham, and more.
The DNC continues Wednesday for the third day at United Center. Here's our rundown from the first and second days of the convention.
Before the DNC officially began, several thousand self-described leftists began protesting outside the convention Sunday, calling on Democrats to end financial aid to Israel and better protect civilians in Gaza, with protests expected to continue this week for the duration of the convention.
Speakers on the third day of the convention are expected to include vice presidential nominee Tim Walz and former President Bill Clinton.
WFAA senior political reporter Jason Whitely is in Chicago. We'll be posting updates from the convention here throughout the day. We'll also be livestreaming on our website and WFAA+.
