Possible tornadoes, waterspouts and even 'gustnadoes': A round-up of severe weather events across North Texas on Thursday

Footage from the community of Pickton in Hopkins County shows that at least one tornado likely touched down in North Texas on Thursday

PICKTON, Texas — Along with a number of significant severe weather events from the storms that rolled through North Texas, footage of a possible tornado was filmed on Thursday in Hopkins County, located nearly 100 miles east of Dallas.

A tornado spotter named Jason Dalton reported seeing a funnel cloud at about 4:28 p.m. in Pickton, a town in Hopkins County. The possible tornado caused roof damage to a house along State Highway 11 at FM 269. It also resulted in downed trees and power lines.

Additional meteorological events were also reported across North Texas on Thursday evening.

The City of Weatherford, located in Parker County nearly 30 miles west of Fort Worth, said in a Facebook post at about 7 p.m. that a possible tornado had been spotted there that afternoon. No injuries have been reported at this time. 

"Residents are encouraged to watch for debris, down power lines, gas lines or electrical systems," the city said. "Avoid risk of fire or explosion."

Footage of a rotation, which could possibly be a tornado or a "gustnado" was also seen in Justin, located in Denton County some 40 miles to the north of Dallas:

A possible waterspout was also spotted in Denton County in the city of The Colony.
