DALLAS — Alto is the only rideshare company with a contract to pick up customers curbside at Dallas Love Field airport for the next five years. Uber and Lyft users will have to go to a new and controversial pick-up area at Garage B.
The Dallas City Council Wednesday approved authorizing in-terminal customer service from Irving Holdings and designated spots on the lower level outside Love Field’s baggage claim for Alto’s vehicles.
Irving Holdings operates taxi services like Yellow Cab, according to Dallas Yellow Cab’s website, including at Love Field.
Both contracts are for five-year terms and with three two-year renewal options. Alto is paying an estimated $287,852 and Irving Holdings is paying $222,000 for the exclusive rights at the airport per the contracts, according to the resolution approved by the city council.
Love Field’s transportation pickup area was relocated from the airport’s lower-level roadway to the adjacent Garage B’s Level One last fall, as WFAA reported.
Dallas-based Alto was founded in 2018, and its drivers are W2 employees.
