American Airlines plans to again remove daily flight options out of the Austin airport.

The Fort Worth-based airline will cut nonstop service from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to Boston, Nashville, Raleigh-Durham and Orange County, California, according to recent reports.

American Airlines Group Inc. (Nasdaq: AAL) has cut nearly 30 routes out of Austin since November 2023.

Routes to Boston, Nashville and Raleigh-Durham will end after Nov. 4. The route to Orange County will end Jan. 5, 2025.

But the airline plans to expand its Latin American network options by adding flights to Tampico on Mexico’s Gulf Coast starting March 6, 2025. The city will be served daily from the DFW airport.

American reaches more than 350 destinations with one-stop connections, according to the airline.

American will continue to offer flights from Austin to eight of its hubs — Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, and Phoenix, along with seasonal nonstops to Aspen, Cancun and Los Cabos.

American has competed with Delta Air Lines and Southwest Airlines on the popular Austin to Nashville route, which American currently offers as one daily flight in each direction.

The airline did not immediately respond to Dallas Business Journal’s request for comment.

American Airlines is one of the largest public companies in North Texas. Last week, the airline's flight attendants ratified a new labor deal.
