CARROLLTON, Texas — Just as IH-35E in Carrollton was drying out from Tuesday's storms, an accident nearly shut down the entire northbound portion of the interstate at Hebron Parkway.

According to TxDOT, just before 1 p.m., a trailer detached from an SUV.

The trailer was full of clay plater pots, which ended up breaking and spilling across the majority of the northbound lanes on IH-35E.

Just one northbound lane remained open at Hebron Parkway as first responders worked to clear the debris by hand. The broken pots were initially moved to to the median barrier as a temporary solution.

IH-35E northbound traffic was backed up past SH-121 for at least two hours Tuesday afternoon.

TxDOT was also dealing with limited traffic cameras after the morning storms knocked out power to hundreds of cameras across the metroplex.
