SPRINT Part 2 debuts on Netflix in November, but is Sha'Carri Richardson featured in it?

Austin resident Gabby Thomas, former Longhorn Julien Alfred and Central Texas native Fred Kerley are just a few of those with Texas ties featured in the docuseries.

DALLAS — After the 2024 Paris Olympic Games wrapped up and with eyes on Los Angeles for the 2028 games, Netflix is giving another behind-the-scenes look at the athletes who ran faster than anyone in the world.

Part one of SPRINT debuted in July, which followed seven athletes in their competitive journey to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, including:

  • Noah Lyles (USA)
  • Sha’carri Richardson (USA)
  • Shericka Jackson (Jamaica)
  • Zharnel Hughes (England)
  • Lamont Marcell Jacobs (Italy)
  • Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (Jamaica)
  • Elaine Thompson (Jamaica)

Now, beginning Nov. 13, Netflix subscribers will be able to stream Part 2 of SPRINT, which "will follow Gabby Thomas, Noah Lyles, Fred Kerley, Kishane Thompson, Julien Alfred, Letsile Tebogo, Melissa Jefferson, Twanisha Terry, Marcell Jacobs, Kenny Bednarek, Shericka Jackson, Oblique Seville, and more as they compete at the pinnacle of their sport at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games," per Netflix's announcement released Thursday

Is Sha'Carri Richardson in Netfllix's SPRINT Part 2?

One name notably missing from that list above is Dallas' own Sha'Carri Richardson. Richardson was prominently featured in Part 1, and she is shown in the trailer for Part 2, but it is unclear if she's an interview subject or just part of the overall story.

The Dallas native went into the Paris Olympics as the reigning world champion in the 100m, but finished with a silver medal, being bested by former UT Longhorn Julien Alfred, who won Saint Lucia's first ever gold medal. Richardson won her first gold medal as part of the women's 4X100m team, which featured Gabby Thomas, Melissa Jefferson and Twanisha Terry.

"The latest edition of the docuseries shows what it takes to dig deep, pull out your personal best on a global stage, and then get back into training to continue dominating on the track," Netflix said in its release.
