DALLAS — Kyrie Irving's shoe in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals is the latest iteration of his signature show with Anta.
Irving's Anta KAI 1 ‘Chief Hélà' shoe pays tribute to his Native American heritage, which features a mocassin-like design with a unique fringe detail on the back of the shoes. The name of the shoe matches the title of his X profile, Chief Hélà, which comes from Irving's Lakota name and translates to Little Mountain. Irving was given the name by the Standing Rock Sioux tribe in 2018.
Irving also signs all his posts on X with "Hélà."
Donning the new, Native American-inspired iteration of the shoe, Irving blasted the Timberwolves in Game 1 for 30 points and four assists, his best outing of this playoff run since Game 4 against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Irving signed a five-year shoe deal with Anta, a Chinese sportswear company, back in July 2023.
