ARLINGTON, Texas — The wait is over, Rangers fans. Whataburger is now open at Globe Life Field.
OK, so it wasn't *that* long of a delay after opening day, but the new Whataburger concession stand at the ballpark will be up and running for the Rangers vs. Astros series, starting Friday night.
Fans caught a glimpse of the "coming soon" Whataburger sign at Globe Life Field during the offseason, but the Texas burger joint wasn't quite ready for the Rangers' first homestand of the season last weekend.
But it's ready now.
The Whataburger stand is located on the concourse near Section 105.
In a way, it's fitting that Whataburger is making its debut for the all-Texas affair between the Rangers and Astros. The Rangers are 4-2 and coming off a series win on the road against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Astros are 2-5, winning their last two games after starting the year with a five-game losing streak.
If this weekend's series -- which runs Friday through Monday -- is anything like the rivalry games of 2023, then fans will be in for a treat, and perhaps a bench-clearing or two. The Ranges beat Houston in a heated American League Championship Series last year, before going on to win the franchise's first World Series title.
