ARLINGTON, Texas — It appears a Texas favorite fast-food spot could be joining the 2024 food lineup at Globe Life Field.
A Texas Rangers spokesperson says they “expect” Whataburger will have a presence at Globe Life Field this season.
“There are no real details to share at this time. We expect that Whataburger will have a presence at Globe Life Field this season but still working on timing and full information,” a Whataburger spokesperson told WFAA.
Photos shared on social media recently appear to show signage announcing the pending arrival of Whataburger at Globe Life Field, but Rangers officials told WFAA they expect to be able to reveal more details about food and beverage plans for 2024 in March.
The Rangers’ home opener against the Chicago Cubs will be March 28.
A year ago, Arlington-based Hurtado BBQ opened a stand at Globe Life Field with birria tacos, beef ribs, nachos and elotes.
Globe Life Field wouldn’t be the first stadium to feature a Whataburger. The chain originated in Corpus Christi and has naming rights on the Double-A ballpark there – the home stadium of the Corpus Christi Hooks, a Double-A Texas league affiliate of the Houston Astros.
The chain posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, about feeling conflicted when the Rangers and the Astros played in the ALCS last year.
But when the Rangers won the World Series, Whataburger shared their congratulations.
