Dallas Dream advances to AVP's beach volleyball championship matchups in California

DALLAS — After two months of exhilarating beach volleyball, the Dallas Dream has secured a spot in the AVP League Championship tournament.

During last weekend's matchups at the Comerica Center in Frisco every spike, serve and rally mattered as teams fount to secure their playoff spot. When the dust settled, New York Nitro, Dallas Dream, Miami Mayhem, and San Diego Smash emerged as the top four teams.

The Dallas Dream’s relentless performance on Sunday pushed them through as the #2 seed, eliminating the Austin Aces. 

The men of the Dallas Dream, Andy Benesh and Miles Partain who are both 2024 Olympians, finished the regular season undefeated, boasting an impressive 8-0 match record and a remarkable 16-1 record in sets.

“There are great teams in this league; we’re playing the best teams in America, so to go undefeated all season has been really special," Andy Benesh said. "We played well every match, but it also takes luck, and I think we got lucky at certain times."

The women, Kylie Deberg and Hailey Harward celebrated a stunning defeat over Austin Aces Taryn Kloth and Kristen Nuss. Kloth and Nuss each competed in the Paris 2024 Olympics. 

Dallas will now face the #4 seed San Diego Smash. The #1 seed New York Nitro will rally against #3 Miami Mayhem. The winners of both matches will face off for the championship title.

The playoff action gets underway at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California, from Nov. 9-10.

Tickets are $12 per day and can be purchased on the event's website.
