IRVING, Texas — A SWAT standoff is underway with a person who barricaded themselves inside an apartment complex in Irving Thursday afternoon, according to the Irving Police Department.
Around 12:15 p.m. Irving PD SWAT was assisting Dallas PD with an arrest warrant for an aggravated robbery suspect in the 400 block of Block Drive.
Police said several people exited the complex but one person stayed and barricaded themselves inside. A source told WFAA that the barricaded person is suspected of being the leader of a group of armed robbers.
The identity of the suspect was not immediately released.
Authorities are urging the public to avoid the area.
