Former North Texas medical assistant arrested for second charge of indecency with child after bonding out of first one, police say

According to police, the first arrest occurred on Sept. 5, 2024. However, he bonded out two days later.
The former medical assistant is accused of sexually abusing multiple children during medical exams, according to police.

IRVING, Texas — A former medical assistant at Little Spurs Pediatrics was arrested on a second charge of indecency with a child on Wednesday, Oct. 9, police said in a news release.

According to the Irving Police Department, 25-year-old Angel Nunez was arrested for this second charge for making inappropriate sexual contact with a 9-year-old victim in January 2024 at Little Spurs Pediatrics, where he was a medical assistant.

Earlier this year, Nunez was arrested on Sept. 5 for indecency with a child after he was accused of making inappropriate sexual contact with multiple child patients on separate occasions, police said in the news release.

Police said the victims believed they were getting a medical exam and were not aware that they were being abused at the time.

According to police, Nunez worked at multiple locations with Little Spurs Pediatrics, including Irving, Grand Prairie, Arlington and Fort Worth between August 2023 and August 2024.

Two days after his initial arrest, police said Nunez bonded out of the Dallas County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

Following his first arrest, Little Spurs Pediatrics said in a statement to WFAA it reported the incident to Child Protective Services, launched an internal investigation and fired Nunez once made aware of the allegations.

“Little Spurs has been caring for children in the communities we serve for more than 15 years, and we are committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all patients and their families. We recently learned that an employee conducted a medical procedure beyond their scope of practice and outside of our established guidelines,” the statement read. “As soon as we were made aware, we promptly reported the incident to Child Protective Services, launched an internal investigation, and terminated the employment of the employee in question. Law enforcement is continuing to investigate the former employee, and we are fully cooperating with their investigation.”

The Irving Police Department said this investigation is still ongoing.
