Farmers Branch police searching for 3 suspects involved in a kidnapping and homicide that expands to at least 4 North Texas cities

The kidnapping and homicide took place across multiple cities throughout North Texas.

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas — Farmers Branch Police are investigating a kidnapping and homicide that took place early Saturday morning.

Investigators told WFAA it started at an apartment complex on Fair Oaks Crossing Drive in Dallas. Police said around 12:30 a.m., 33-year-old Nilzuly Arneaud Petit was coming back from a party with two teenagers. He was driving a friend’s 2015 black Toyota 4Runner, authorities said.

There were at least two other people in the vehicle who police said took over the vehicle and kidnapped Petit and the teens.

Investigators said the suspects drove around eventually switching from the black Toyota 4Runeer to a light-colored four-door sedan.

After switching vehicles, authorities said the suspects drove to Farmers Branch where they shot and killed Petit between 3:00 a.m. and 3:40 a.m. before driving to Lewisville.

That is where Lewisville Police spotted the two teenagers walking along the I-35 and Clifford service road. Police said there was no sign of the suspects and the teens were medically cleared and have been cooperating with investigators.

“It’s definitely unusual. Anytime someone is killed, it’s disturbing,” said Lt. Terry Eoff of the Farmers Branch Police Department. “Every little bit that we can get with this investigation helps.”

Police found the black Toyota 4Runner in Greenville. They are still looking for three suspects in this case; the two responsible for the kidnapping and a third who helped switch the vehicles. Police have reassured the public that this incident is isolated.

If anyone saw the teenagers get dropped off in Lewisville or knows anything about the incident, you are asked to contact Farmers Branch Police at (972) 919-1406 or pdinfoandtips@farmersbranchtx.gov.
