DALLAS — A Dallas police officer was arrested Sunday on a charge of driving while intoxicated, according to the Dallas Police Department.

The department said Officer Deron Coleman was arrested by Irving police. More information about his arrest was not released by officials.

Coleman has been placed on administrative leave, pending an internal affairs investigation.

According to DPD, Coleman has been with the department since Jan. 2019 and is currently assigned to the Community Engagement and Operations Bureau.

This was the second time in three days that Dallas police announced the arrest of one of their officers.

The department shared Saturday that Senior Corporal James Goetz was arrested and placed on leave for suspicion of DWI.
