FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth-based Allsup’s, the convenience store chain known for its popular burritos and other snacks, has opened three new North Texas locations, with more in the works. The news comes shortly after the chain closed a location near the University of North Texas in Denton, just about six months after the 24-hour store opened.

New stores in North Texas include:

  • 805 W. State Street in Alvord in Wise County
  • 1202 W. Highway 287 South in Bowie in Montague County
  • 2600 W. Bardwell Drive in Ennis in Ellis County

Construction is also underway on stores at:

  • 100 E. U.S. Highway 67 in Keene in Johnson County (expected to open in late November)
  • 9704 Highway 87 in Lubbock
  • 2450 Southeast Access Road in Mount Vernon (expected to open in early October)

Allsup’s already has stores in Aubrey, Azle, Clifton, Decatur, Granbury, Justin, Lake Dallas, Mineral Wells, Sachse, and Stephenville, according to their website.

Alsup’s parent company Yesway also plans to have at least 10 stores in Oklahoma by the end of the year. The company already has stores in Altus, Frederick, Guymon, Madill, Broken Bow, and Thackerville in Oklahoma.

The new stores each span 6,277 square feet and are open 24 hours.

"We are incredibly proud of our teams for driving this accelerated growth. We are excited to bring our unique brand of service and hospitality to more communities and anticipate continued expansion as we look ahead to 2025,” said Yesway Chief Real Estate Officer Thomas Brown.

Allsup's can trace its history to its founding family launching Lonnie's Drive-In Grocery in Roswell, New Mexico in 1956. The Allsup family expanded that brand into a small chain before selling off its stores to the Dallas-based 7-Eleven in 1963. After the sale, the family launched Allsup's, which they named for their family.

Convenience store brand Yesway was founded in 2015 and bought the Allsup's brand in 2019. In 2020, Yesway moved its headquarters to Fort Worth. The company currently operates more than 400 stores across the Midwest and Southwest.
