DALLAS — The Dallas Police Department arrested and charged 18-year-old Marion La Keith De La Cerna and 24-year-old Christopher Paul Alvarado with capital murder.
According to police, on May 27, Dallas Fire Rescue and officers responded to a welfare check in the 4900 block of Mark Trail Way at an apartment complex across from Thurgood Marshall Park.
When officers arrived they discovered the 14-year-old boy's body on the ground in a breezeway with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Medical Examiner identified the teen as Julian Miguel Zavala.
Police said Alvarado was arrested on June 26, and De La Cerna was taken into custody on July 8.
Dallas PD didn't immediately release what led them to the arrest or if more arrests would be made.
