DALLAS — A homicide investigation is underway after the body of a 14-year-old boy was found Monday morning in Dallas, police said.
At about 9:30 a.m., Dallas Fire Rescue and officers responded to a welfare check in the 4900 block of Mark Trail Way at an apartment complex across from Thurgood Marshall Park.
When officers arrived they discovered the young boy's body on the ground in a breezeway with gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Medical Examiner identified the teen as Julian Miguel Zavala.
No arrests have been made and a suspect description was not immediately released.
The investigation is ongoing.
