North Texas sheriff's deputy hit by drunk driver over Labor Day weekend

According to the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office, this was the drunk driver's second DWI.

TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — Over Labor Day weekend, a drunk driver hit a Tarrant County deputy, according to the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office.

TCSO says a deputy was rear-ended by a drunk driver just before midnight on Saturday. According to TCSO, the deputy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. He was later released.

The 36-year-old driver was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated. According to TCSO, this is the man's second offense.

In a release, Tarrant County Sheriff's Office said this was one of nine DWI arrests made during Labor Day weekend.

North Texas authorities were also involved in multiple crashes this holiday weekend. Monday, a Fort Worth police officer was involved in a crash with a car containing four passengers.
