New security video of a deadly Christmas weekend shooting shows a second unidentified man running for cover during a barrage of gunfire

Fort Worth homicide detectives need the public's help after gunfire left one dead & four injured on Cynthia Court.

FORT WORTH, Texas — WFAA has obtained new video of Friday's deadly shooting in a south Fort Worth neighborhood near Everman Joe C Bean High School.

You can hear the chaos that sent people running for cover.  It also shows a man at the bottom of the video running for cover.

Officers responded to a shooting just after 11 p.m. on Cynthia Court. When they arrived they found one person dead, and four others injured.

According to Fort Worth police three of the four people taken to the hospital remained in critical condition as of Tuesday afternoon.

Neighbors like Jose Diaz called the police about bullet holes that damaged their vehicles. He spoke with WFAA on Christmas Day and said the unexpected gunfire was a scary close call for his family.

Diaz believes people have the right to own guns, but they should be responsible gun owners who don't put others in harm's way.

Diaz and his wife got their family to safety just in time.

"I heard the one ricochet off the truck. I and my wife ran inside and hurry up and told the kids to go to the back," and Diaz.

When the gunfire ended and they realized their street was packed with dozens of officers, they came out and learned a bullet struck the headrest of their SUV.

Homicide detectives need help identifying two different men seen in the surveillance video. One of them is seen in the middle of the street immediately after the gunfire.

Authorities are also working to learn more about a car seen speeding away from Cynthia Court.

Although it's quiet again on Cynthia Court things are not quite back to normal. Several families are not only recovering from bullet damage to either their vehicles or homes, but they are also waiting to learn the identity of the person shot and killed on their street Christmas weekend.

"For us to hear something like this really close to us, it's very scary," said Diaz.

Anyone with information that can help can contact Fort Worth Police Detective Reyes at 817-392-4313 or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS.
