IRVING, Texas — A third woman has been arrested in connection with a double fatal shooting in Irving on January 19, authorities announced Wednesday.
On April 30, the Irving Police Department arrested 30-year-old Escarleth Mejia, accusing her of helping the suspected gunman, Hector Vicente Paguada, evade police before helping him flee the city.
Meija is charged with hindering the apprehension of a known felon and is in custody at the Irving City Jail.
Paguada, also known as "Hector Matute," is wanted for capital murder after a shooting in the 2000 block of West Irving Boulevard that resulted in the death of Juana Rodriguez and Nayeli Medina, officials say. According to officials, Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene and Medina died from her injuries at a local hospital.
The department said the search for Paguada continues. Police believe Matute knows the victims but the motive for the shooting is not clear at this time.
Meija's arrest comes after Irving police announced one man and two women had been arrested in connection to the homicide. Yeferi Josue Aguilera Hernandez, 32, was arrested on a complaint of hindering apprehension of a known felon. Nicolle Martinez Tome, 34, and 30-year-old Yudi Mabel Paguada Ruiz were both arrested for "tampering with or fabricating physical Evidence," officials say.

If he's seen, Irving police ask witnesses not to confront him.
