FORT WORTH, Texas — A woman was arrested more than a week after she allegedly hit and killed a 12-year-old boy in a crash in Fort Worth, according to police.
Precious Crosby, 33, was booked into the Tarrant County Jail Monday on a collision involving death charge, jail records show. Crosby’s bond amount was listed at $200,000, jail records show.
Police said 12-year-old Apollo Rogers was killed after an SUV hit him as he tried to cross the street at a crosswalk around 8 p.m. Nov. 14 in the 3700 block of Stalcup Road in Fort Worth, near East Berry Street and East Loop 820. The SUV, a Jeep Cherokee, drove away from the scene after the crash, according to police.
Rogers, a Fort Worth ISD student, was taken to a hospital after the crash, where he later died, officials say.
Police say they saw a Jeep Cherokee with front-end damage in the parking area in the 1100 block of E. Lancaster the day after the crash and took it to a holding location as part of their investigation of the crash.
Officials say they issued an arrest warrant for Crosby Nov. 19 and Crosby turned herself in to police Monday, where she was taken into custody without incident. She’s since been transported to the Tarrant County Jail, logs show.
No other information about the crash was immediately available.
