Police in a news release said officers around 8 p.m. responded to an auto-pedestrian crash near the 3700 block of Stalcup Road.

FORT WORTH, Texas — A 12-year-old boy was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Fort Worth on Thursday night, police said.

Apollo Rogers, of Fort Worth, was identified as the victim, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office.

Police in a news release said officers around 8 p.m. responded to an auto-pedestrian crash near the 3700 block of Stalcup Road, near East Berry Street and East Loop 820. When they arrived, they found that a child had been struck by a vehicle, possibly an SUV, and that the SUV drove away "immediately following the accident," the release said.

First responders took the child, later identified as Rogers, to a hospital, where he died, according to the release.

No arrests have been made, and traffic officers were still investigating the crash late Thursday. No details about the possible suspect vehicle were released.
