'It's utterly ridiculous': Ex-husband demands higher bond after husband charged with murdering wife whose body was discovered inside Fort Worth home

The murder victim's ex-husband, Everett Ardnt, worries the suspect’s low bond amount poses a danger to him and his children.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Everett Arndt is struggling to process his ex-wife’s murder.

On April 19, his ex-wife, 34-year-old Krystlynne Robertson, who went by “Krystle,” was found dead in a home in the 5500 block of Whitman Avenue in Fort Worth.

Her husband, 33-year-old Christopher Robertson, is accused of murdering her. According to an arrest warrant, the suspect admitted to police he shot his wife and wanted to go to jail.

Arndt, who told WFAA the suspect allegedly had a history of violence against Robertson, said her death has been devastating for their children.

He’s now concerned the suspect’s bond is too low.

Arndt and Robertson had three daughters together.

“She was a good mother… my kids took it really hard,” Arndt said. “I still haven't wrapped my mind around it, and I never will.”

According to an arrest warrant obtained by WFAA, Krystle Robertson was shot once on the left side of her face. When officers arrived, they found her body wrapped inside a blue tarp in one of the bedrooms.

“It’s been hell,” Arndt said.

The suspect, Christopher Robertson, is at the Tarrant County Jail with a $100,000 bond.

“It’s utterly ridiculous, and it’s outrageous, frankly,” Arndt said. “It’s an insult to her, to me, to the kids. Just the fact that he could walk out the door if he had $10,000 in his pocket is an insult.”

Arndt said by speaking out, he hopes to advocate for his ex-wife on behalf of their three children.

“She did not deserve to lay on the floor in that house for who knows how long,” Arndt said. “When they [our daughters] are old enough to look back on the situation, they can see me sitting here advocating for her.”

Ardnt worries the suspect’s low bond amount poses a danger to him and his children.

“One of my kids goes to school right across from where he lives,” Arndt said. “Something so horrific could happen. He knows my kids school schedule, he knows my schedule, he’s already confessed to one of the worst things you could possibly do. I wanna see that bond raised, so that even if he wants to get out, that he can’t.”

He hopes his safety concerns will spark change.

In the warrant, investigators stated it was Christopher's brother who discovered his ex-wife's body after returning from out of town. He noticed Christopher was "extremely intoxicated" and smelled a strong odor coming from his bedroom. When he looked inside, he noticed Kristlynne's body and called 911.

Arndt told WFAA the suspect’s mother and additional brothers live in the Whitman Avenue home. He has questions about what information was known to other family members and how soon they were aware of Krystle Robertson’s death before reporting it.

“If anybody else had anything to do with this it needs to be found out and they need to be held accountable,” Arndt said.

WFAA reached out to Fort Worth police about whether any additional individuals could face charges in the murder, but has not received a response as of Wednesday night.
