DALLAS — A suspended Dallas police sergeant accused of stealing department firearms was arrested on a warrant in Rockwall County this week, officials confirmed.

Dallas police Sgt. Thomas Fry was arrested at a home in Royse City Saturday after Dallas police notified the Royse City police that Fry had a warrant, officials say.

Fry was booked into the Rockwall County Jail Saturday on a warrant for a theft of property charge between $30,000 and $150,000, jail records show.

Fry’s arrest comes after he was accused in April of stealing three firearms from the department.

Dallas police said the Dallas Police Department’s Public Integrity Unit began investigating Fry in October of 2022. Investigators at that time determined Fry, who worked in detention services, stole three duty firearms from the Southeast Patrol Division, where he was assigned at the time, officials say.

The Dallas Police Department Public integrity Unit issued an arrest warrant for Fry for felony theft after Fry turned himself in to authorities April 8, the department confirmed.

Fry was transferred from Rockwall County to the Dallas County Jail, where he was booked in Monday and remains in custody, according to jail records.

Fry remains on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an administrative investigation, Dallas police say.
