DALLAS — A Dallas police sergeant accused of stealing three firearms from the department turned himself in to authorities Monday, the Dallas Police Department confirmed.
Sgt. Thomas Fry, who worked in detention services, is facing three charges of theft of a firearm, a state jail felony, Dallas police said in a news release.
DPD's Public Integrity Unit began the investigation involving Fry on Oct. 10, 2022, and investigators found Fry stole three duty firearms from the Southeast Patrol Division, where he was assigned at the time, officials say.
A Dallas police spokesperson said Fry is "an active member currently out on injury time" and has been with the department for 22 years.
Dallas police didn’t provide additional details but said the investigation is ongoing.
