FORNEY, Texas — A second suspect in the shooting death of Jessica Campos had been arrested and charged with capital murder, Forney police said.
Campos was found shot to death in her garage last December. One suspect, Andrew Chazaretta of Fort Worth, was found shot dead in Arlington that same evening.
Police say an altercation between Campos and Chazaretta led to both dying from gunshots. Further investigation, police say, led to the identification and arrest of a second suspect from Crowley.
Police would not identify the latest suspect until they have met with a magistrate.
“The conclusion to this case was the result of the hard work and dedication of Forney Police Detectives," said Forney Police Chief Carrie White. "They coordinated efforts with several jurisdictions to bring this suspect to justice. They should be commended for their work on this complicated case; their perseverance and commitment to the Forney community motivated them as they worked diligently to conclude this case.”
Police say they are not seeking any other suspects currently.
