DALLAS — After opening its first North Texas location in Coppell late this year or early next year, Canadian coffee and doughnut chain Tim Horton’s is eying Denton for its second North Texas location, a spokesperson confirmed to WFAA.
Tim Horton’s Coppell is set to occupy 1,640 square feet of space at 440 N. State Highway 121, according to filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Construction of the Coppell location is expected to cost $900,000 and be completed by March 1, 2025, the filings show.
“After this first restaurant we are targeting to open a restaurant in Denton in early 2025,” a spokesperson said. “We have many sites in the pipeline across DFW and plan to be in all major markets in the area over the next few years.”
The spokesperson didn’t provide additional information about specific addresses for locations.
Tim Horton’s opened their first location in Katy in 2022, followed by other locations in the Houston area.
As reported last year by WFAA partner the Dallas Business Journal, Houston restauranteurs and brothers Ali and Emad Lakhany are leading the Tim Hortons debut in North Texas after opening the first Texas locations in the Houston area in 2022.
"Coppell holds a special place in my journey within the DFW area, and I've been a fan of the community since the inception of our expansion plans," Emad told the Dallas Business Journal last year.
Founded in 1964 in Hamilton, Ontario by legendary hockey player Tim Horton, Tim Horton’s has expanded to more than 5,000 locations around the world.
