A Dallas-based developer has announced a tsunami of new retailers at a mixed-use project in McKinney.
Over a dozen businesses are joining West Grove, a 52-acre development featuring 420 luxury apartments, 55,000 square feet of office space, a 2-acre park, and a diverse selection of retail, restaurants and entertainment options. At full buildout, the project will offer roughly 600,000 square feet of retail amenities.
The community is located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 380 and Custer Road. The project is spearheaded by Dallas-based De La Vega Capital and Development and designed by Gensler and GFF.
West Grove is anchored by Austin-based grocer Whole Foods, which broke ground on a $8.5 million facility in November. Chick-fil-A opened its doors in March.
Of the businesses listed, only one is making its debut in Texas. Florida-based Oak & Stone, an eatery specializing in wood-fired pizzas, will occupy 6,000 square feet.
The announcement follows a wave of retailers signing on to Fehmi Karahan’s $2 billion Fields West project in Frisco. McKinney city officials also recently unveiled plans to partner with Arizona-based developer Cole Cannon for a separate $200 million mixed-use project, anchored by a resort-style hotel and surf lagoon.
