FORT WORTH, Texas — Last week, a video went viral on Facebook that showed a woman leaving a small dog in its cage on a sidewalk in the middle of the rain outside the Humane Society of North Texas.
But after being left in the cold, a week later, that dog has found a warm new home, and is with a new happy owner.

The animal shelter said at the time that a Humane Society of North Texas staff member had found the dog within minutes of it being left there.
"She’s scared but healthy and will be ready for adoption in the next few days once cleared by our vet!" the shelter shared on Facebook.
The Humane Society of North Texas also finished its post by saying:
"It’s moments like these that remind us of how important our mission is to save, shelter, protect, and advocate for all animals in need in North Texas. And it’s thanks to the generosity of so many of you that we are able to do what we do. This is hard work and we see a side of humanity that can be really troubling, but then we read these comments and see all of you who love and advocate for animals in need… It means so much to all of us at HSNT!"
