DALLAS — Another popular Deep Ellum restaurant is closing its doors.
Hattie B's Hot Chicken announced it will be closing its Deep Ellum location at 3000 Main St. on Friday, August 2.
The Nashville-based hot chicken chain won't be absent from Dallas for long. The company said it will be opening a location in Oak Lawn at 3827 Lemmon Ave, the site of a former IHOP. That site is being renovated with an estimated opening in the fall of 2024.
“We're grateful for the opportunity to operate in Deep Ellum," Hattie B's Vice President of Operations Jonathan Carothers said. "While we've made the difficult decision to close this restaurant and focus efforts on opening in Oak Lawn this fall, we're thankful to the community and our staff, most of whom will continue to serve our Dallas guests in a few short months.”
In a release, Hattie B's said it informed the staff at the Deep Ellum location earlier this week. According to the announcement, they will offer employees two bonuses and regular pay through August 2. The company said employees will also get the opportunity to work at the new Oak Lawn location once it opens.
This marks the second major restaurant closure for Deep Ellum after Federales closed earlier this month.
