Fort Worth musician Leon Bridges' upcoming North American tour to end with hometown blowout at Dickies Arena

The tour comes in support of his upcoming fourth album -- simply titled "Leon" -- which releases on Oct. 4.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Editor's note: The video at the top of this article initially aired in June 2022.

Grammy Award-winning artist and Fort Worth native Leon Bridges is going back on tour across North America -- and, naturally, he's making a stop in his hometown, too.

The tour -- dubbed "Leon Bridges: The Leon Tour"-- will make stops in cities including Chicago, Toronto, New York and Nashville, but will wrap with a special homecoming show at Dickies Arena on Friday, Nov. 15.

A press release announcing the upcoming show at the 14,000-person-capacity Fort Worth venue calls it Bridges' "biggest headline show to date."

The tour comes in support of Bridges' upcoming self-titled album, "Leon", which releases on Oct. 4.

Bridges has previously described this fourth LP of his career as being "about time spent in my beloved Fort Worth and the experiences that made me the man I am today." The first single off the new album -- called "Peaceful Place" -- was released on August 8.

Joining Bridges as the opening act throughout "The Leon Tour" will be the Ecuadorian-Swiss instrumental Latin act Hermanos Gutiérrez. Joining the Fort Worth show as a special guest will be Bridges' fellow North Texas product, the roots musician Charley Crockett, who released his his "Visions of Dallas" LP -- his own homage to his hometown -- on July 22.

As he has said about the album, Bridges says that this upcoming tour is personal to him.

“I wanted to bring the magic and connection that made this record to this tour, so I felt it was important to pick the right rooms to play," he said.

Whereas much of the tour will be held in what bridges calls "intimate theaters" and "listening rooms", the tour-ending Dickies Arena show will find the performer going big with what he promises will be "a truly epic night in Fort Worth."

Adding to the local vibes of the tour, Bridges said that $1 from every ticket sold for this run of shows will go towards his charity, The Big Good, which focuses on initiatives that support educational and workforce development within the Fort Worth community.

Presale tickets to that show will become available on Tuesday, Aug. 20, and fans can sign up for that presale here. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, Aug. 23, at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster.
