While it may be 2024, life will take a distinctive and delightful turn for 1813 once you slip inside the Dallas Public Library this weekend.
Chances are you binged Season 3 of Bridgerton on your couch, but now it’s time to swap those sweats for an embroidered ballgown or frockcoats for a Bridgerton-inspired Regency-era ball.
Dallas is bringing the streaming hit and book series to the sixth floor of the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library on Saturday, July 13 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. It's part of the library's Summer Saturdays event programming.
Queen Charlotte has provided a variety of activities to entertain her guests for this event and is sparing no expense.
Once the pop-up ballroom opens, members of the Dallas "ton" will have the chance to dance the night away like guests at the Queen's renowned balls. Two English country dance classes will be taught by the North Texas Traditional Dance Society.
In the event that you’re missing a few necessary accessories, don’t fret dear reader. In place of Madame Delacroix’s shop, Dallas-based Stitchin’ Addiction will be open for business, where elegant crowns, cloaks, and gloves can be purchased.
The ton can also promenade through a mini market of other vendors, including East Dallas Vintage, BinkStudio and Beading Dreams, to peruse jewelry and other accessories.
For this event, you’ll want to leave the kids at home. The Queen requires that all guests be 18 or older. Tickets are free but registration is highly encouraged.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase from vendors such as Proper Baking Company and Oh My Curry. Organizers say you can park your horse and carriage at no cost at the library's parking garage.

Last month, Netflix announced it will bring Netflix House, a new "experiential entertainment venue," to the Galleria Dallas in 2025. It is currently under construction on the northwest side of the shopping center.
