ARLINGTON, Texas — Interstate 30 will close in Arlington for the weekend so road crews can remove the southbound State Highway 360 bridge that runs above the freeway.

Transportation officials say the freeway will close at 7 p.m. on Friday and isn't expected to open until Monday at 5 a.m., depending on weather and schedules.

The closure of I-30 will stretch from Farm to Market Road 157 and Collins Street to State Highway 161 and President George Bush Turnpike.

Eastbound drivers will exit at southbound at FM157/Collins Street, turn east on State Highway 180/Division Street then north on SH 161 to the I-30 ramp.

The detour route will be toll-free.

Westbound drivers will follow the same detour in the opposite detour.

Access to eastbound I-30 from Six Flags Drive will be open during the closure.

Ultimately, this project will transform the original cloverleaf design into a fully-directional interchange, officials say.
