DFW Weather: Warm temps continue, storm chances return

Humidity will be on the increase this week with some storms around Tuesday-Wednesday. Higher rain and storm chances may return Thursday-Friday.

DALLAS —

Tuesday

The weather will start to change today as moisture returns to North Texas. You'll notice it feeling muggier especially by this afternoon.

A passing shower or storm may be around during the day mainly south of D-FW, but most of the area will be dry. Severe storms are unlikely.

Wednesday

A warm and windy day with a strong cap in place. This means t-storm chances are low, but not zero.

If the cap can break, a t-storm or two is possible mainly across western North Texas. IF that occurs, those storms would likely be severe with large hail and damaging winds the main threats.

Thursday-Friday

A better chance for showers and storms may exist Thursday into Friday especially across the eastern half of North Texas as a front slowly moves into the area.

The overall severe weather threat in North Texas with any storms Thursday-Friday looks to be on the lower end, but can't rule out some strong to severe storms with large hail and damaging winds.

Weekend and beyond

Behind the front that moves in late week, temps look much cooler for the weekend. Highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s and 50s. Right now the weekend is looking dry.

Next week brings a warm-up with perhaps some rain chances returning here or there.
