Ground stop ends at DFW Airport

The ground stop was previously set to expire at 8:15 a.m. due to severe weather.

DALLAS — Flights are allowed to depart again from DFW International Airport after a ground stop expired Tuesday morning.

Earlier, the ground stop is was scheduled to expire at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday. Officials noted at 30-60% chance of that expiration time being extended.

At first, it was said to end at 7:15 a.m. with a 30% chance of extension.

Multiple counties in North Texas are currently under Severe Thunderstorm Warnings that are scheduled to extend between 7:30 and 8:15 a.m. Tuesday. The WFAA weather team says the strongest part of the storm could produce heavy rain, frequent lightning, and hail up to the size of a ping-pong ball.
