TEXAS, USA — It is nice to see warm weather in North Texas during the winter, but warm weather this time of year also increases the chances for storms and severe weather.

Main takeaways:

  • A cold front is currently moving across North Texas. Along that cold front a line or broken line of storms may form. Mainly east of D-FW. The severe threat looks low, but can't rule out some wind or hail.

Storm timing and threats

The threat for significant severe storms has ended in North Texas, but storm chances still remain heading into the nighttime hours.

A cold front is moving across North Texas and a line or broken line of storms may form mainly east of D-FW and sweep east into the late night hours.

The severe threat with this round look fairly low, but not zero. Some storms within that line could have strong winds and pocket change size hail.

By midnight or shortly after storms will exit out of North Texas to the east and everyone will be dry by Tuesday morning.
