Clouds and drizzle will linger before clearing this afternoon

Before North Texas will dry out from west to east this afternoon into this evening, clouds and drizzle will linger for now.

QUICK FORECAST

Widespread heavy rain has come to an end, but clouds and drizzle will linger for most through the mid-afternoon.

This means roads will stay wet, and it will be damp outside.

However by mid-afternoon into this evening, clouds will start to clear from west to east, and most of North Texas will start to dry out.

The western half of North Texas could even see sunshine before the sun sets!

DETAILED TIMING

Now to 3 p.m.

Lingering clouds and drizzle will continue from the Dallas-Fort Worth area to the east.

Temps stay chilly with afternoon temps only in the 40s to low 50s.

Noon - 3pm: Showers remain, but generally light and not as widespread.

Western North Texas will be dry, and even the sun will break out from west to east!

3 to 7 p.m.

Rain ends for most of North Texas but some lingering light showers and drizzle across eastern North Texas.

3pm - 7pm: Most rain ending with sunshine possible for western North Texas.

Clouds will continue to clear from west to east with the western half of North Texas seeing some sunshine before the sun sets. This includes the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The farther west you go, the better chance for sunshine before the day comes to a close.
