Houston police: Man arrested for pointing gun at CenterPoint worker

It happened at a west Houston substation. Not shots were fired and no one was injured.

HOUSTON — Houston police say a 38-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly pointing a gun at a CenterPoint energy worker.

It happened Saturday morning at a substation on Wilcrest at Briar Forest. No one was hurt and no shots were fired.

In a video statement posted on YouTube, CenterPoint CEO Jason Wells said he understands folks’ frustration after Beryl, but added threats and acts of violence are counterproductive to the ongoing power restoration efforts.

He's urging the public to give workers room to conduct their work safely.

Wells also said in the video that shots were fired during the incident, but HPD said that was not the case.
