DALLAS —

Summer takes hold

High pressure continues to hang out close to North Texas. That keeps the weather dry and temps high.

Highs will continue to be in the upper 90s Friday with triple digits expected going into the upcoming weekend.

High humidity is also in the mix helping bring our heat index values into the triple digits every day.

Rain (mainly) stays away

It's not impossible for North Texas to see some showers and storms the rest of this week, but most places will be dry.

A few showers or storms are possible mainly along the Red River Thursday and Friday. But for the rest of North Texas, the rain outlook looks pretty bleak. Not only the rest of the week, but over the next 10 days as well.
