Overnight
The line of showers and storms will continue to most east overnight. The cold front is still back to the northwest, so we could see a few showers and storms pop up along the front. No severe weather is expected.
This round will slowly move across North Texas from west to east. So, there is a higher threat for most will be heavy rain which could cause flooding in places.
Flash Flood Watch
A Flash Flood Watch has been issued through Tuesday morning for that reason.
Widespread flooding does not appear likely. However, the ground is saturated, so any heavy rain that falls in one location for an extended amount of time could cause flooding.
Remember never drive into or through flooded roadways. We've already seen our fair share of water rescues so far this month!
What a month?!? We ended up with 7.77" of rain at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, which makes it the 21st wettest May on record. You may remember back in 2015 when we had 18 days of rain that added up to 16.96 inches. May 2015 is still the wettest on record, so we are thankful we don't have that much! We still could pick up a few hundredths of an inch before 1 AM, so we will keep an eye on that.
As we head into June, rain chances will continue on and off all week with another 3-5 inches possible for a good portion of North Texas.
