Here's the latest forecast for this week and beyond:
Quick Notes:
- Hot again on Sunday
- Cranking up the heat even more this week
- Triple digits possible next week
This weekend
Just a true summertime weekend in North Texas.
Highs will be in the 90s with heat index values around or above 100°. We'll stay dry with mostly to partly sunny skies and a breeze from the south around 5 to 15 mph.
Hotter this week
As high pressure builds overhead next week, temps will climb accordingly. Each day will be in the upper 90s to low 100s pretty much anywhere in North Texas. None of those temps will be records, but they are around 5-8° above normal for this point in the summer.
With the humidity not going anywhere, heat index values will climb as well topping out between 105° and 110° each day. That means Heat Advisories are possible starting early next week and lasting much of the week.
Any rain?
Not much.
We are dry through the weekend and early next week with high pressure dominantly in control. There may be enough of a shift in that area of high pressure by the middle of the week to bring in a few isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms mainly to eastern North Texas. Coverage will be low and there is no concern for severe weather.
That's about all we have to hope for at this point.
