DALLAS — After the terrible summer we just endured, I think this is the moment many of you have been waiting for: Our first real taste of fall is coming early in the week!

And it sweeps in with a chance of showers and storms.

Watch a LIVE RADAR of the storms as they enter and move across North Texas here:

Anymore rain?

For D-FW, spotty to scattered showers are possible overnight, but nothing significant.

A higher coverage of rain and better chances this evening and overnight look to be in western and southern North Texas. Redevelopment of showers or storms or rain moving into these areas is more likely.

Overnight into Monday morning, best chances for rain will be in southern and western North Texas. Some passing showers will continue be possible for the D-FW.

Through Monday morning, the bulk of the rain will shift south out of North Texas with most places dry by midday Monday and into the afternoon.

Rain totals

Another dry streak has ended!

D-FW Airport saw measurable rain this morning for the first time since September 2nd. That breaks a streak of 43 days in row without measurable rain.

Rainfall totals so far have been highest along the Red River with lower amounts across the rest of North Texas.

Additional amounts of around 1/4in to 1in look possible mainly for areas west and south of D-FW through Monday morning.

Coolest temperatures of the season

Things are about to get chilly, too!

The cold front behind these rains will usher in the coolest air of the season so far.

Lows on Tuesday and Wednesday morning are expected to be in the 40s (some places in the 30s!), with high temperatures in the 60s Monday through Wednesday.

It’s a true taste of fall! Yes!

As we get into next weekend, temperatures do moderately kick back into the lower 80s, but this is close to normal and certainly better than the 94-degree high we saw on Saturday -- just one degree off the all-time high for this date on record.

We're really experiencing a bit of everything this week, huh?!?!
