The next 24 to 36 hours are crucial as we expect more rain to fall over North Texas.

Major flooding has already taken place in parts of North Texas, including Granbury, Horsehoe Bend and Turtle Creek in Dallas.

Several communities are on high alert Wednesday morning -- Stephenville, Carrollton, Garland, Horseshoe Bend and Granbury.

Showers are expected to be scattered throughout the day. Some pockets of heavier rain will aggravate high water areas and cause flooding.

More widespread rain is expected into Thursday morning, with the flooding concern still top of mind.

We will dry out a little as we head into the weekend, but some storms are still in the forecast for Saturday.
