The extension applies to homeowners and renters in Austin, Bell, Calhoun, Collin, Cooke, Coryell, Dallas, Denton, Eastland, Ellis, Falls, Guadalupe, Hardin, Harris, Henderson, Hockley, Jasper, Jones, Kaufman, Lamar, Leon, Liberty, Montague, Montgomery, Navarro, Newton, Polk, San Jacinto, Smith, Terrell, Trinity, Tyler, Van Zandt, Walker and Waller counties, the release states.
Uninsured residents in those locations who sustained losses from flooding that occurred April 26 through June 5 are eligible for assistance.
Eligible expenses could include temporary housing, emergency home repairs, legal services, unemployment assistance, medical, dental, and funeral expenses. Uninsured and underinsured residents are also eligible to receive assistance for personal property losses. You can read more about the program here.
You can get help applying in person at FEMA's Disaster Recovery Centers, according to the release. Residents can also apply online through disasterassistance.gov and over the phone by calling 800-621-3362.
