2.4 magnitude quake centered in Northwest Dallas

Initial information places the epicenter along Walnut Hill Lane, just west of Interstate 35E.
A 2.4 magnitude earthquake rattled Northwest Dallas on March 11, 2015.

The U.S. Geological Survey has confirmed a 2.4 magnitude earthquake struck Northwest Dallas at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday.

Initial information places the epicenter along Walnut Hill Lane, just west of Interstate 35E.

There were no reports of damage, but WFAA's Facebook page was quickly filled with reports confirming the tremor.

"Moved my house," said Susana Herrera near Northwest Highway and Marsh Lane.

Candy Cuff Hill in Las Colinas said she felt a "very slight" movement.

"Rattled the second floor of my house," added Lisa Horton, who lives near Highway 161 and Conflans Road in Irving. "Lasted about 15 seconds."
