  • Triple digit heat continues
  • Heat index values well above the actual temp
  • Rain chances are slim to none

Excessive Heat Warning and Heat Advisory

Simply, it is going to be hot this weekend. And will likely be the hottest weekend of the summer so far.

Yes, it is August and it is supposed to be hot this time of year. However, the heat like this can be dangerous if the proper precautions are not taken. If you are spending an extended amount of time outside, have a way to stay cool and hydrated. Remember to keep your pets safe and keep those in mind without A/C.

Excessive Heat Warning: This is in effect for most of North Texas, including DFW, through the weekend. Afternoon heat index values could peak above 110° in most areas.

Heat Advisory: Peak afternoon heat index values between 105° and 110°

Hotter Monday, but it gets better!

Temps look like they'll be even hotter on Monday, which could end up being the hottest day so far this summer.

However, after Monday a weak "cold" front moves into North Texas which will help drop temps a bit the rest of the week. While it will still be plenty hot and triple digits are possible, it may not be as hot for the second half of the week.
