LIVE RADAR
Rain is out...for now.
The best chances for widespread rain arrived Monday night through Tuesday morning (Valentine's Day).
Showers and storms quickly moved off to the east with sunshine breaking out fairly quickly after the rain ended.
Valentine's Day afternoon and evening will be dry, sunny, windy, and much warmer. Highs will climb into the low 70s across the metroplex. Locations outside of DFW likely stay in the upper 60s. Any evening plans today will be dry and comfortable as winds begin to calm.
Very windy
A Wind Advisory is in effect through 6 p.m. on Tuesday. During that time winds will be out of the southwest around 20-30 mph with gusts of 40-50 mph possible.
Consider moving loose outdoor items indoors during that time and be careful driving high-profile vehicles, especially if commuting from west to east or east to west.
Severe threat
Scattered t-storms are possible Wednesday evening into Wednesday night, but not are guaranteed for everyone.
A strong "cap" will be in place during that time, which will help suppress t-storm development. However, IF the cap can break, any t-storms that form could be strong to severe. The timing for this will be late, generally after 6pm Wednesday.
Keep checking back as we'll have more details as we get closer!
Warm then chilly temps
Temps will really warm with highs in the 70s area-wide on Wednesday.
A strong cold front will move through Wednesday night bringing a big cool-down in temps.
By Thursday, highs will likely only be in the 40s! Around a 30° cool-down from Wednesday afternoon. A freeze is expected Friday morning.
