Quick Notes:
- Isolated showers/storms possible thru Thursday
- Higher rain chances for Labor Day Weekend
- Temps closer to normal or below normal
Through Friday
Wednesday and Thursday will feature isolated pop-up showers and storms during the afternoon through sunset. After sunset, any showers or storms will come to a close. Most places will stay dry, but some will see a stray storm. If you find yourself under a storm, expect brief, heavy rain and lightning. Storm could also have strong wind gusts as well.
Friday will feature a little higher coverage of afternoon and evening showers and storms, but not everyone will see rain. Highest coverage looks to be across western North Texas.
Temps will stay around normal for this point in the summer with highs in the low to mid 90s for most. Humidity will not be the worst ever but will make it feel a few degrees warmer than the temp.
Labor Day Weekend: rain and cooler temps
An unsettled pattern looks to take shape by the holiday weekend.
Scattered rain and storms will be possible each day as a slow-moving front moves into the area along with disturbances moving overhead. The entire weekend does not look to be a washout, but rain does look to be out there.
Don't cancel any plans at this point but keep checking back for the latest as we'll fine-tune timing and coverage as we get closer. It is not a bad idea to have an indoor back-up plan at the ready in case storms are overhead while you have your plans.
Because of the front, cloud cover, and rain around the area, temps will also be cooler this weekend. Highs will be in the low 90s and even the 80s!
