Things are calm for now, but thunderstorm chances will return to North Texas. Here's the latest forecast and timing:
Quick Notes:
- A little cooler to start the workweek
- Rain chances return overnight and Monday morning
- Low risk of severe thunderstorms
Tonight - Overnight
Sunday evening into Sunday night a few t-storms may pop-up mainly along the Red River. DFW and the vast majority of North Texas will stay dry through the end of the weekend. The overall severe threat is low in these areas, but can't rule out a storm with some strong wind gusts and hail. Most areas will not see storms or severe weather.
Monday - Wednesday rain chances
It won't rain constantly and everywhere through the middle part of the week, but on and off rain chances are possible through Wednesday. Also, this does not look to be a repeat of the last couple weeks with significant severe weather and multiple rounds of widespread rain in a row.
Here's a day by day breakdown and timing of what we expect right now:
Monday - Isolated to scattered showers and storms are possible during the day. Most of North Texas will stay dry as coverage of rain is not high, but scattered rain will be out there. Any showers or storms should dissipate heading through the evening with the loss of daytime heating.
Tuesday - The day will likely start off dry, but a round of showers and storms is possible mainly across the western half of North Texas during the day. IF that round of rain is not out there during the day, a round of showers and storms is more likely during the nighttime hours for the same area. Overall severe threat is low, but can't rule out some strong wind gusts and hail with strongest storms.
Wednesday - Lingering showers or storms are possible to start the day with perhaps some afternoon redevelopment mainly across the eastern and southern parts of North Texas.
