Temperatures will be up and down this holiday week across North Texas. Here's the latest forecast:
Quick Headlines:
- Cooler start to the holiday week
- Warmer on Wednesday
- Cooler from Thanksgiving through the weekend
Cooler Monday and Tuesday
A cold front arrived early Monday morning, bringing a noticeable change in the air to start the holiday week. Temperatures briefly dropped during the morning, but, with the help of sunshine, are expected to recover to the upper 50s by the afternoon. A breezy north wind will persist through the evening. Temperatures will drop further tonight as cooler air settles in. However, they should remain above freezing for Tuesday morning.
Warmer Wednesday
Expect a significantly warmer Wednesday! After an early week cooldown, temperatures will trend 15 to 20 degrees above normal for late November. The warmer weather will be short-lived, though, as the week's second cold front is set to arrive Wednesday night into Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving and the rest of the week
The holiday week's second and stronger cold front arrives just before Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving Day is expected to be dry, breezy and cooler. The morning after Thanksgiving could bring the coldest temperatures of fall so far, with a chance of some freezing temperatures outside of the DFW area on Friday morning. Over the weekend, another cold front is set to arrive, reinforcing the cold air in North Texas as we move into early December.
